Records relating to detention or criminal activities can be retrieved from Case Status and Information portal of the Judicial System website of Virginia. Virginia State Police maintains all its criminal records with the CCRE (Central Criminal Records Exchange).

Virginia State Police has laid down a few guidelines to access arrest records of an individual. You can request a copy of arrest records through phone, mail, online or in-person too.

The online requests of arrest records are processed by the Non-Criminal Justice Interface department by entering the basic details of the individual.

Virginia State Police issues two forms; SP-167 and SP-230. You can obtain arrest records by submitting form SP-167. This form must be signed by a certified notary. Individuals, general public and private firms are authorized to use this form. However, SP-230 does not require any authorization from Notary officials.

Usually, child welfare organizations, employees of administrative and law enforcement agencies use this form. You can also download or print forms from the Virginia State Police website. The processing fee of $15 is applicable for the procurement of arrest records through mail or online mode. Virginia arrest records can be accessed through public databases too. But in this case, a convenience fee will be also applicable along with the processing fees of $15.
