As of today, there is no state law in Arkansas that protects individuals from getting turned down based on convictions. So, if an employee is turned down because he/she has a criminal conviction, they are not protected under Arkansas law. In such cases, individuals can claim discrimination based on the rejection under federal law instead of state laws.
