Around the age of 18, she had already appeared on almost 16 Vogue covers and very soon she earned the title supermodel after working with top, luxury brands, and companies such as Chanel, Versace, Giorgio Armani, Gucci, Valentino, Escada, Prada, and Louis Vuitton.
Her growing struggle against addiction forced her to leave the industry, but she later started working as an ambassador for young models, after returning to her model career with success.
Career and Supermodel Status and Title
The supermodel completed her education in America, around the tender age of fifteen; she got into modeling, because of Amber’s parent made her join Linda Layman Agency, which was a modeling school.
Very shortly, at the age of 17, she was successfully discovered and went on to become the part of the group of models who managed to copy Linda Evangelista and Naomi Campbell who were some of the successful models of the late 90s.
Not only that, along with some of her fellow model companions Kate Moss, Shalom Harlow, and Carolyn Murphy, Amber soon became a known face on the runway.
It was in the early 90,s that she had her rise to fame, eventually earning the title and status of a supermodel.
Her fame saw her endorsing one of the top luxury as well as fashion brands in the world, which included Versace, Chanel, Giorgio Armani, and Louis Vuitton, all of them being pioneers in the fashion industry.
Her first modeling job was at the young age of 18 and throughout her extensive modeling career, she made several cover appearances, mainly on the American Vogue magazine, around 13 times.
In addition to Vogue, she also made it on the covers of other well-known magazines which included Elle, Interview, Harper’s Bazaar as well as i-D.
She is also one of the few models who had a successful acting career beginning with Hollywood in the year 2000. Amber Valletta also bagged a cameo role in a famous Hollywood hit movie after being cast, alongside Hollywood bigwigs at that time.
The Last Time, rom-com Hitch, and thriller Transporter 2 are some of the movies the model worked on, that went on to become box-office hits.
Apart from her film career, Amber has also worked on television for a period of two decades which began with her MTV show in the year 1995 till Blood and Oil show in 2015.
Return to Modeling
The model has confessed to struggling with alcohol addiction but she has been sober ever since she was 25. In December, in the year 2016, Valetta discussed this issue at the BoF’s voices gathering, being a strong advocate on the need for support while facing drug and alcohol addiction.
By 2014, Amber Valetta also focused her efforts on the slave labor issue in fashion and went on to launch Master & Muse, a socially conscious e-commerce platform.
In addition to television, film, and modeling work, Amber made her foray into the music world starring in musing videos of legendary singers, Fergie and Keith Urban.
Although she took a break from modeling for a while, the model continued to work with campaigns for Marks and Spencer, Vogue and Escada in 2017.
