Christina Aguilera Celebrity Life
Ever heard of a lady named Christina Aguilera? Yeah, sure you have. Well, did you know she started her career off with a slew of reality TV appearances?
Born on December 18, 1980, in New York, Christina always wanted to be a singer. She spent a major part of her childhood entering singing competitions with the hope of being recognized. In 1990, at just 10 years old, she competed in Star Search, singing ‘A Sunday Kind of Love’. However, she lost the competition, coming in a very close 2nd.
Her search for stardom continued when, the following year she auditioned for a role on Disney’s, The Mickey Mouse Club. At 11 years old though, she was too young and didn’t make it.
Finally, in 1993, meeting the age requirements, Christina was cast as a member on the show, along with other big names that you may recognize today. Justin Timberlake, Ryan Gosling, and Britney Spears were some of her co-stars, and all have achieved fame in their own right since then.
As part of the show, Christina was given her chance to do what she loved, sing, and act. She continued this way until 1994 when the show was canceled.
This was only the beginning of her illustrious career. By the age of 14, she had already recorded her first song, which was a duet with Keizo Nakanishi, a Japanese singer.
In 1997 she performed at the Golden Stag Festival, an international event, and represented the U.S. Finally, in 1998, after sending a demo tape to Disney, Christina’s powerful voice was acknowledged By Ron Fair, a producer. Within a week she had signed with RCA Records. And so Christina Aguilera, as we know her today, was born.
She has also won a Grammy for Best New Artist. Over the years she has changed up her musical and personal style. From innocent teen to sexy adult and yet again to classic beauty. Whichever way she went through, amazing music followed.
She even made a move into Hollywood, by landing the lead role in the movie Burlesque alongside Cher, in which she sang and danced her heart out.
By 2011, Christina made her way back to her roots, reality TV. This time though, she was on the other end of the stage, a judge on The Voice, a well-known music competition.
Christina, alongside her fellow judges, Blake Shelton, Cee Lo Green, and Adam Levine, judged and coached talented singers from across the country.
It was this stint on the show that led her to collaborate with Adam Levine’s band, Maroon 5, on their hit song ‘Move Like Jagger’. In 2012 just after season 3, she quit the show, but she returned as a judge in season 8.
In 2015, Christina won yet another Grammy, for her collaboration with A Great Big World on their song ’Say Something’.
She also found herself back in the acting seat, when she accepted a recurring role on the show Nashville, a country music drama. In addition to all this, Christina Aguilera is engaged and has 2 beautiful kids.
She is extraordinarily philanthropic, donating towards AIDS campaigns and women’s rights. She has had a fabulous career and has earned the right to be called one of the world's best singers.
To think, it’s all because as a child she had a dream, and used reality TV as a stepping stone to achieving it.
