Garrett Temple, born on 8th May 1986 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, USA is an American professional basketball player who plays for Brooklyn Nets of National Basketball Association. He plays in the position of shooting guard and small forward. From 2005 till 2009, during his college, Temple played for LSU Tigers.
High School Career
Garrett attended the LSU Laboratory Schoo, Louisiana. Temple averaged 13.9 points, 7.4 rebounds & 5.5 assists during his time in college
During his college, Garrett displayed an impressive performance as a defensive stopper in the season 2005–06. In 36 games he played, Temple averaged 5.1 points, 2.8 assists, 2.6 rebounds, & 1.1 steals.
In the senior season, Temple broke the record of Howard Carter (the year 1983) in terms of minutes played and became LSU's all-time leader. He played 35 games and averaged 4.5 rebounds, 7.1 points, 3.8 assists & 1.7 steals.
After Garrett was not shortlisted for the 2009 NBA draft, he joined the Houston Rockets to participate in the 2009 NBA Summer League. In September 2009, Garrett signed a contract with the Rockets, but he was expelled by the club on October 21. In November, he became the club's player for Rio Grande Valley Vipers of the NBA.
On 8th February 2010, Temple signed a 10-day contract with the Houston Rockets. On February 20, 2010, he entered into a second 10-day contract with the Rockets.
On 3rd March 2010, Garrett signed a 10-day contract with the Sacramento Kings. On March 10, 2010, he signed a 10-day contract with the San Antonio Spurs.
On March 23, 2010, Garrett signed a contract with the Spurs until the end of the season.
In July 2010, Temple joined the San Antonio Spurs to participate in the 2010 NBA Summer League. On November 11, 2010, he was expelled from Spurs. On November 30, 2011, Garrett again became a player in the Rio Grande Valley Wipers. On December 30, 2010, he was traded in the Erie Beyhouks.
On January 25, 2011, Temple signed a 10-day contract with the Milwaukee Bucks. On February 5, 2010, he signed a second 10-day contract with the Bucks. On February 17, 2011, he returned to Erie Bayhawks
On March 7, 2011, Garrett Temple signed a 10-day contract with the Charlotte Bobcats. On March 17, 2011, he entered into a second 10-day contract with the Bobcats. On March 28, 2011, Temple signed a contract with Charlotte Bobcats again valid until the end of the season
On July 27, 2011, Temple signed a contract for one season with the Italian club Junior Libertas.
In July 2012, Garrett played in the 2012 NBA Summer League. He played for the Oklahoma City Thunder in the Orlando Summer League and played for the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Las Vegas Summer League.
On September 13, 2012, Garrett signed a contract with the Miami Heat, but he was expelled by the club on October 27. On November 1, 2012, Temple again became an Eri Bayhawks player. Four days later, he was traded to the Reno Bighorns.
On December 25, 2012, Garrett Temple signed a contract with the Washington Wizards.
On July 10, 2013, Temple again signed a contract with the Wizards. On July 18, 2014, Garrett Temple signed a 2-year contract with a player’s option for the second season with the Washington Wizards. On June 15, 2015, he took advantage of the option and stayed with the Wizards.
July 9, 2016, Garrett Temple signed a contract with the Sacramento Kings.
