She continues to appear in magazines in recent times as well such as Vogue Italia in 2016, Tatler in 2018, and Elle in 2018. In 2019 she worked with Italian fashion house Dolce and Gabbana.

Helena Christensen co-founded the American publishing company Nylon in 1999. Nylon published many of her works on photography. In Nylon her role was of a creative director as well. French magazines Elle and Marie Clair also published her photography.
She also opened a boutique “Christensen & Sigersen” in New York in 2006. She had a business collaboration with lingerie brand “Triumph”. Helena Christensen co-founded a photography studio in New York called “Staerk & Christensen.”

Helena Christensen also works for the refugee cause across the world including Rwanda and the Middle East in collaboration with the United Nations Refugee Agency. In 2019 she was made the goodwill ambassador of the agency.
Together with Oxfam, she has worked in the field of climate change in Peru. Helena Christensen is also actively involved in fundraising for breast cancer.
Helena Christensen’s father is a Danish national and her mother is from Peru. She has a sibling Anita. Initially, during the 1990s Helena Christensen was dating Australian musician Michael Hutchence.
The relationship ended in 1995. She had a relationship with American actor Norman Reedus. The couple has a son- Mingus Lucien Reedus.
Helena Christensen and Norman Reedus separated in 2003. She also dated American singer Paul Banks. There are news items indicating that she also had relationships with Guy Berryman, Jon Bon Jovi, and Rasmus Walter Hansen.
