He was born on 8th February 1990 in Redmond, Washington.
His father’s name is Bob Hekker who used to work at Fircest School and his mother’s name is Joy Hekker.
The NFL record for the longest punt in the super bowl history with a 65-yarder belongs to him.
In his childhood, Hekker went to Bothell High school from where he graduated in the year 2008. In his senior year, he was a quarterback of the cougar’s football team.
The team had reached the finals of the state championship but unfortunately, they came runners-up.
In his college, Hekker sent on to become the third-best in average yards per punt.
He had a score of 41.3 yards per punt. In his entire college career, he was a starter and was widely regarded as one of the best punters in Oregon ever.
In his senior year, he had a tally of 52 punts which were over 50 yards. Also, he was named in the Sun Bowl Special Teams Most Valuable Player.
He also has the record for the 2nd longest punt in the school history which was around 74 yards.
In the year 2012, Hekker was offered by the St. Louis Rams to play for them as s an undrafted free agent.

In his debut season, Hekker had scored 82 punts for 3,756 yards. His average for the 2012 season was 45.8.
In the season of 2013, Hekker was going berserk as Andy Lee’s record for net punts (44) was broken by Hekker (44.2) In that season he had 78 punts and had 3,609 yards under his belt for an average of 46.26.
This made news in the NFL as no other punter had been offered such an amount in the history of the NFL. In that season he finished with scores of 80 punts for 3,271 yards and he had an average of 46.51.
In the season of 2015, Hekker was leading the net punting average column and hence was named an all-pro by the associated press.
He shifted to the Los Angeles Rams in the 2016 season & it will be always remembered by some of the experts and fans as the greatest punting season as Hekker went on top to achieve new milestones by breaking the NFL records for the most punts downed inside the 20. He has 51 punts to his credit.
In that season, his scores were 65 punts with an average of 47.76 for 3,113 yards. In the next season in 2017, he signed a two-year contract extension with the Rams.
Hekker had a score of 98 punts at an average of 47.76 at the end of the season. In that season the Rams qualified for the playoffs.
In 2018, he saw rough times as he punted 43 times on an average of 46.3 for 1992 yards. As a result, he missed the Pro-Bowl the first time since 2014.
Overall, he played in 128 games in the NFL and has punted 608 times and has 28,600 punts under his belt.

He has been a part of the Pro-Bowls in the year 2013,2015,2016 and 2017. He was also nominated to the First-Team All-Pro in 2013,2015,2016 and 2017. And has won the player of the week 3 times in 2012, 2016, and 2019.
