Born on 29 May 1990, in Berlin, Germany, he was interested in football right from his childhood. His parents worked in the military during their time in Berlin, however, he moved to Florida when he turned 3 years old.
In Pensacola, Florida, he started schooling at Booker T. Washington High School, where Green started playing football & started running track.

Always praised as a tight-end, Green got selected by the San Diego Chargers in the fourth round of the 2012 NFL Draft. He was signed for a staggering $2.55 million contract, which included a signing bonus of $450,990.
When he started off with the Chargers, he entered training camp because he was competing to become a backup for the tight-end position. He finally got a chance to enter the regular season as a fourth tight end.
Later on, he received season-high 3 passes on a 25-yard reception. His rookie NFL season ended with him catching 4 catches on a 56-yard reception; his appearance statistics were 4 games & starring in one.
His career’s first touchdown on a 60-yard pass happened in 2013 & in that year, Green played all 16 games in which he did 3 touchdowns, receiving 17 receptions for 376 yards.
Green played for the San Diego Chargers for the next two years in which he played as tight-end position backup while in some games, he was assigned a starting role.
In 2016, Pittsburgh Steelers signed him for 4 years, with a $20 million contract that included a signing bonus of $4.75 million. He performed well under the Steelers, but during the 2016 season, he was tackled and suffered from injuries that led to being diagnosed with a concussion.
This forced the Steelers to release Green in May 2017 on the grounds of physical impairment.
In an interview, Green revealed that his role model is his mother & his brother.
He admired his mother as a role model because even after being a single parent, she raised him & his brother properly.
While he thinks of his brother as a role model because his brother was like a father-figure to him, who was there to help him learn a lot.
