Louis King was enrolled for his sophomore year at Roselle Catholic High School and did his sophomore year in Pope John XXIII Regional High School. He then took a transfer to the Hudson Catholic Regional High School located in New Jersey’s Jersey City mid-year. King had to be out of action for the rest of that season.

King was a teammate of Jahvon Quinerly at Hudson Catholic High School. His name was included in the watch list of the Naismith Prep Player of the Year Award before the season of 2017-1. He succumbed to a knee injury while in the senior year after an awkward landing.

Although he had a short season because of this injury, King had an average of 4.4 rebounds and 15.2 points. King’s name was included in the McDonald’s All-American team of 2018. He got an invitation to attend the Nike Hoop Summit of 2018 but could not visit because of this injury.

The player gave a verbal commitment on 21st September 2017 to play basketball at the college level in Oregon. King chose Oregon over other teams like NC State, Purdue, Seton Hall, and Kansas. He had an average of 5.5 rebounds and 13.5 points per game.

The player’s name also featured in the team of PAC-12 All-Freshman. However, his play was affected because of his ankle and hand injuries. After the season, he announced his intention to participate in the NBA draft of 2019.

Playing for the National Team

Louis King has represented the country at the FIBA Under 19 World Cup of 2017, which was held in the city of Cairo, Egypt. King had an average of 2.1 assists, 4.4 rebounds, and 6.1 points during that tournament.
