Born on December 10, 1985, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, Matt Forte is a former American football running back. In the second round of the 2008 NFL Draft, he played college football in Tulane and was selected by the Chicago Bears.
He is also one of the three players in the prestigious "1000-yard rushing, 100-catch season" club along with LaDainian Tomlinson of the Chargers and Christian McCaffrey.
Matt Forte did his graduation from Slidell High School, Louisiana. When he was a junior, he had a pretty impressive track record of having run for 1057 yards.
His total rushing included 8 touchdowns, 30 passes, and 3 receiving touchdowns. He continued his excellent track record in senior class as well.
Forte was awarded the St. Tammany Parish Player of the Year award. Apart from that, he also got several other awards for his fabulous performance like District 5-5A Offensive MVP, All-Metro prize, and many more.
Matt Forte is an excellent sprinter as well. In 2003, he broke his own record of 100m run in the New Orleans area.
He managed to finish 100m race in just 10.68 seconds and 200m race in 22.10 seconds only.
During his college days, he played NCAA Division I football matches. He was pursuing a degree in finance and, at the same time playing for the university team for 3 years.
Moreover, he also lettered for the team continuously for 4 years. His fans still remember his performance at Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama, during his college days, where he completed 59 rushing yards and 4 receptions for 38 yards.
He was awarded the overall MVP award for his outstanding performance.
When he came out of college as a fresher, he already had a great track record in football. With a total of 624 rushing yards and 4 rushing touchdowns, he was already being seen as a star player.
During his 10-year long football career, he played for two different teams, namely Chicago Bears and New York Jets.
In 2008, Chicago Bears signed a contract with Matt Forte, which was the start of his impressive journey in NFL career.
From 2008 to 2015, he played for Chicago Bears and cemented his name as one of the top receiving back players the NFL had ever seen.
In 2016, he was released by Chicago Bears, and New York Jets signed a 3-year contract with him for $12 million. He played for New York Jets for 3 years and performed very well.
Finally, on February 28, 2018, he announced his retirement from the NFL, which made fans sad.
