Matthew Stafford’s Early Life

Mathew was born in Florida on the 7th of February 1988 to Margaret and John Stafford. His dad studied at the University of Georgia, so his family moved to Dunwoody, Georgia, right after he was born.

He grew up in Georgia and went to Highland Park School, where he started playing football. Clayton Kershaw, the LA Dodger’s pitcher, went to the same school.
 
High School Football Career

Matthew’s luck was clearly written in the stars as he was coached by Randy Allen, who was one of the best quarterbacks in a US High School in 2006.

He was trained so well that he turned out to be a prominent and well-known quarterback in high school in the US at that time.
He played for his school and won the UIL 4A when he led his entire team to a 15-0 record when they competed at the I division State Championship.

Matthew Stafford had a record of 400 yards passing even though he did not play the three games earlier in the season and he beat Jevan Snead and Ryan Mallet during the playoff run.

Even before he started playing at the College level, Matthew was definitely the first pick in the NFL draft. After he graduated high school, Matthew got accepted to the University of Georgia.

It was in college that he spread his wings, worked hard and in his freshman year, quickly became a powerful quarterback for his team, the Georgia Bulldogs.
 
He debuted in 2006 when his team played against Western Kentucky with a victory of 48-12. His freshman year at college was a 31-24 victory over Virginia Tech.

Overall, in College, Matthew Strafford played 39 matches. In 2009, however, Stafford decided that he wanted to work on the 2009 NFL draft and not compete in the senior season for Georgia.

He has spent all his professional football career with the Detroit Lions. Matthew negotiated with the Detroit Lions for a 6-year contract on the 24th of April 2009, about a day before the NFL draft. That contract was said to have been $41.7 million, which increased to a much higher total.
