Naz Mitrou-Long Celebrity Life
Nazareth Jersey "Naz" Mitrou-Long or Naz Mitrou-Long is a basketball professional from Greece. He was born on August 3rd, 1993 and plays for the Indiana Pacers in the NBA. He is currently on a two-sided contract alongside playing for the Fort Wayne Mad Ants from the G League of the NBA. He spent his college playing days with Iowa State Cyclones.
His birthplace is Mississauga in Ontario. He played basketball in his high school days at Father Michael Goetz near his birthplace. He began college basketball at Iowa State. In the Summer League of the NBA in 2017, he featured for the Sacramento Kings.
Salt Lake City Stars (2017)
He went undrafted through the NBA draft of 2017. He played for the Kings during the course of the Summer League of the NBA in 2017. He signed for the Utah Jazz to be a part of their training camp team. He was sent to the Salt Lake City Stars of the G League of the NBA after getting relieved.
Utah Jazz (2017–2019 season)
After displaying excellent performances for the Stars of Salt Lake City, Mitrou-Long signed in a contract for the Utah Jazz and occupied the space of Nate Wolters. He divided his playing duties between the Stars and the Jazz till the end of the deal. Mitrou-Long played his first NBA game four days afterward and scored a 3 pointer during their defeat versus the Denver Nuggets.
He was waived by the Jazz to sign another player and then signed back again in February 2018 for a 10-day contract. After completing the first 10-day deal, he signed another 10-day deal for the Jazz.
Salt Lake City Stars (2018–2019 season)
Mitrou-Long was obtained by the Stars again in January 2018. He returned again after the expiry of the 10-day deal. He moved to the Utah Jazz again to join on a 10-day deal and went back to Salt Lake City after it ended. He had an average of 18 points, assist count of 4.6, and rebound-count of 6.1 playing for the Salt Lake City outfit. He left the team to join the Cleveland Cavaliers to play in the Summer League of NBA 2019.
Indiana Pacers (2019–present)
Mitrou-Long entered a 2-sided deal for the Indiana Pacers in July 2019.
Mitrou-Long’s parents were Georgia Mitrou and Jersey Long. His father had roots in Trinidad while his mother has Greek Canadian roots. He has 3 siblings as well as 6 half-siblings. One of the brothers, Elijah Mitrou-Long played for Mount St. Mary's University in college. During the summer of 2015, he displayed his complete final name as an honor to his mom, as he had only the name of his father till then.
Naz played 18 matches as a freshman and had an average points tally of 1.4 points, and 1 assist.
Long featured in 36 matches and started 7 games. He had an average points tally of 7.1 and had a 40% success from the three-point region.
Senior season of College
Mitrou-Long was sidelined for the majority of the 2015–16 campaign. He played for the fifth-placed Cyclones during the initial 8 matches of that season. He had an average points-count of 12 out of 31.6 minute-playtime. He got rest versus the Pine Bluff- Arkansas as his coach said that he would evaluate his situation week after week.
He admitted that he had to take time off to recover in training to help his performances on the court. Naz received the medical redshirt from the Big 12 to gain eligibility to play in the season 2016-2017.
