In 2011, Rashad suffered a concussion in the first pre-season race and injured his knee in the third pre-season race.

As a result of these physical problems, he was put on the injured list and lost the whole year without ever taking the field.

Following a contract holdout by Maurice Jones-Drew, Rashad was designated as the running back for the 2012 regular season-opening team against the Minnesota Vikings.

Maurice Jones-Drew returned for the second game and Rashad resumed his backup role until 24th December, where a new shoulder injury again saw him being placed in the Injured Reserve for the 2nd year in a row.

Oakland Raiders

On April 10, 2013, Jennings signed an annual contract worth $630,000 with the Oakland Raiders. He began the 2013 season as a backup for starter Darren McFadden. The latter being injured, Jennings started 8 games in his place.

As a backup, he exceeded the hopes placed in him. In week 4, against the Washington Redskins, he blocked an opponent's punt.
