Trey Burke is an American basketball professional who features for the Philadelphia 76ers in the NBA. He was picked up by the Minnesota Timberwolves as the 9th pick overall during the NBA drafts of 2013/ he was switched to the Utah Jazz soon. He also featured for the New York Knicks and Washington Wizards.

In colleges, he was with the Michigan Wolverines. While playing for them in the season, 2012–13, he received the accolade of National Player of the Year. Besides, he helped his team seal the championship in the Division I Tournament of NCAA Men's Basketball 2013. After the tournament, we allowed himself into the draft

 

During freshman year at Michigan, he was named the Year’s Co-Freshman by the Big Ten of 2011-12. He was also picked for the 2nd team of All-Big Ten in 2011-12. Further, he was chosen as the Men's All-American by NCAA Men's Basketball in 2012. He topped the rankings of the team for points, steals, blocked shots, and assists for the 2011–12 season.

In his sophomore year, he was chosen as a first-team member in the All-American Basketball team of NCAA Men in 2013. The Men's Player of the Year by the Big Ten Conference also went to Burke. He was elected to the 1st team of the All-Big Ten in 2012–13 season. He received numerous National Level Player of the Year Awards including the ones by AP, Wooden, Robertson, Naismith, Sports Illustrated, and NABC. He also won the Bob Cousy Award. During his sophomore year, he made the assist record for the number of assists in one season for the Michigan team.

Once he was switched to the Utah Jazz, he suffered an injury to his finger during the preseason. This ruled him out for nearly a month into the regular season to delay his NBA debut. He started the 3rd game. He finished at 3rd place in Rookie of the Year Award voting in NBA. He was exchanged to the Washington Wizards after completing 3 seasons with the Jazz.

 

Washington Wizards (2016–2017)

Burke scored 8 points coming off as a substitute during the season’s opening game versus the Atlanta Hawks. In December 2016, he scored the season-best of 27 points as they defeated the Atlanta Hawks. He matched this tally during the final match of the season versus the Miami Heat. After the season, he was not offered an extension and became a free agent.

Westchester Knicks (2017–2018)

In October 2017 Burke signed a deal with the New York Knicks only to get waived 3 days after this. He was on the roster of the Westchester Knicks in October. During his second match for the team, he netted 43 points and 3 assists to set up a new scoring record for the Westchester Knicks.

His average of 31.3 points per match gave him the recognition of Player of the Week in the G League. He went on to win the Performer of the Month award for the G League.

New York Knicks (2018–2019)

He signed for the New York Knicks with an average of 26.6 points. He came up with 18 points and 11 assists as a substitute versus the Denver Nuggets. He became one of the 24 players to get picked for the All-NBA Team for the G League. He scored a career-best with 42 points and 12 assists against the Charlotte Hornets in March 2018. He ended the season with an average of 12.6 points from 35 games. In November 2018, Burke scored a season-best of 31 points versus the Orlando Magic.

Dallas Mavericks (2019)

In January 2019, he was exchanged to the Dallas Mavericks for 5 others.
