How to Get Spotify Premium
Spotify is a digital music service. It is available both as a free platform with some limitations and in an upgraded format that comes at a price. It launched in 2008 from headquarters in Stockholm, Sweden. Currently, Spotify is available in 65 regions worldwide. As a streaming service, instead of individual users paying for each song download, Spotify pays royalties based on the number of an artist’s streams in proportion to the total songs streamed. Around 70% of the revenue goes to the rights holders, who then pay the artists themselves.
In addition to music, Spotify users can also access podcasts. Users can make their own playlists or browse one of Spotify’s many playlists such as Old School Hip Hop House Party, Indie Roadtrip, and Music for Concentration. Spotify is always adding and updating playlists, so listeners never get bored. Additionally, Spotify users can choose to follow friends and artists to see what they are listening to.
As a freemium service, Spotify offers a base service for free. Know that the basic streaming service comes with advertisements. The ads aren’t limited to popups either -- you actually get audio advertisements that interrupt your music. You also have a limited number of skips, meaning that if a song comes on a playlist that you don’t like or don’t feel like listening to at the moment, you have to choose wisely whether or not you want to skip it. You can’t download music, meaning you need an internet connection or data in order to listen to your favorite music and podcasts.
Spotify Premium, on the other hand, gives you lots of upgraded features that most people find totally worth it. First of all, you can say goodbye to advertisements. With Spotify Premium, listen to your music and podcasts ad-free. Spotify Premium also gives you the option to download music. When you download music, while it’s still within the app, you don’t need internet or data to listen to it. It becomes available in offline form. Spotify Premium users have the ability to play any song in a playlist on demand, versus needing to go through the entire playlist or waste “skips” as with the basic free version. Speaking of skips, there is no limit to skipping with Spotify Premium, so skip away! You also get higher quality streaming, which results in better audio. You get access to new releases sooner than Spotify Free users, and you can save on your Hulu subscription too! What’s not to love?

How do you create a playlist on Spotify?
As mentioned previously, while Spotify offers already created playlists, you can also create your own playlists on Spotify. This service is available both for free and Premium users, but keep in mind that only Premium users can play any song they want from the playlist at any time and utilize unlimited skips. You can make your Spotify playlist on the website, your desktop, or via a mobile app.
First, we’ll walk you through creating a playlist from the desktop version of Spotify. Open Spotify on your desktop. From the menu on the left, click “New Playlist.” Give your playlist a name. You can edit the playlist image and description (just click the playlist image to edit it). Your playlist will now appear in your library. To add music to your playlist, simply search for songs or artists via the search bar at the top, right-click on any song you want to save, and click “add to playlist.” A list of your playlists will appear so you can add it to the correct one. Alternatively, you can drag and drop songs directly to your playlist. If you made a mistake or decided you no longer want a song on your playlist, simply right-click the song and choose “remove from playlist.” You can also delete an entire playlist by right-clicking on it and then choosing “delete.”
To create a playlist on the web player, choose “Your Library” from the menu on the left. From there, click “New Playlist” and choose a name for your playlist. Finish up by clicking “Create.” Right-click on your favorite songs to add them to your playlist. To remove a song, simply right-click on it and select “remove from this playlist.” To delete a playlist, right-click on the name of the playlist, select “Delete,” and then click “Delete” again to confirm.
If you’re using Spotify Premium from your iPhone or iPad, click on “Your Library” at the bottom of the screen. Next, choose “Playlists,” “Create Playlist,” and then click “Create” after you name your new playlist. To add songs to your playlist, click the ellipses next to a song, followed by “Add to Playlist.” On an Android device when using Spotify Premium, choose “Your Library” at the bottom of the screen. Then tap “Playlists” and “New Playlist.” Name your playlist and tap “Create.” Now, your playlist will be a part of your library. Just like with the web player and desktop Spotify playlists, you can add and remove songs to your iPhone, iPad, or Android playlists. You can also delete the entire playlist if you so choose.
What are the best playlists on Spotify?
If you don’t feel like creating your own playlist, you can listen to playlists that Spotify already had made for you! To locate these playlists, simply click “Browse” and you’ll be presented with a list of categories such as Mood, Hip-Hop, Sleep, Workout, and Travel. Choose a category and Spotify will give you corresponding playlists to choose from. These are some of our favorite playlists.
