How to Identify a Cheater
One of the most painful things to experience in a relationship is to find out your significant other is cheating on you. Not only does it hurt your relationship, but it also has an impact on your mental health. You will find it harder to trust others, which will make it harder to move on.
Luckily, there are several ways you can identify if your significant other is a cheater. Here are five techniques you can use to spot a cheater:
Explanations are vague and inconsistent
When your partner is cheating on you, there will be several situations where your significant other disappears from the face of the earth. Your partner’s phone number is unreachable, especially when he/she is supposed to be at work, friend’s house, or a well-known establishment.
After you ask your partner for an explanation, he/she will give you a vague explanation, an indicator that he/she is hiding something important from you. Similarly, the explanations don’t make a lot of sense, as the information is contradictory or inconsistent. For example, he/she gave you one story, the day after the incident took place. However, when talking about the same thing a week or so later, the story is different.
No access to bank statements
If your partner is cheating, he/she will have to spend money in restaurants, hotels, and other places unfamiliar to you. Most of the time, the partner will ensure that you don’t have access to the bank statements, as you will catch wind of what is going on.
Are you no longer receiving the bank statements in your mail? Are you finding unexpected or unexplained expenses in your bank account? If yes, you may have a cheating partner on your hands.
Protects the smartphone from prying eyes
Smartphones are great tools, as they allow you to stay in touch with the latest news, friends, family members, and follow your favorite celebrities. One of the easiest ways to find out if your partner is cheating is to find out how he/she treats his/her smartphone.
For instance, does your partner refuse to give you the password/pattern to unlock the smartphone? Is the smartphone inseparable from your partner, even when he/she has to use the loo? If your answers are yes to these questions, there is a high chance you will come across compromising information on your partner’s smartphone.
Spends more time online
Is your partner spending a large portion of his/her free time on social media, rather than having a conversation with you? Although this may seem typical, as social media is addictive, you should keep an eye out for suspicious behavior.
If your partner has nothing to hide, he/she will continue to use social media, even if you are present in the same room. However, if your partner changes tabs the moment you enter the room, closes the laptop, or tries to divert your attention, your partner is trying to hide something from you.
A sudden change in behavior
When you are with your partner for a long time, you can predict his/her behavior. You know significant other’s favorite hobbies, dishes, restaurants, and interests in life. However, if you spot sudden changes in the behavior of your partner, it is a huge red flag.
For example, your partner was always against affairs, as he/she strongly believes it destroys relationships. However, when you talk to your significant other about an affair you came across recently, he/she has changed their stance, going into great length why it took place.
With these five techniques, you will have no problem in identifying a cheater. When you confront your partner, be honest about your opinions!
