If you’re on your way to reducing the number of apps you have on your PC, you’ll be happy to know that with Spotify, you can have your cake and eat it too by using the Spotify web player. There aren’t many differences between the web player and the app.

Here’s how to access the Spotify Web Player

You can access the Spotify Web Player by opening your preferred internet browser and following these steps.

1. Begin by going to the Spotify Browse page.
2. Click on Log In.
3. Finish up the Spotify web player login by entering your password as well as your username and clicking the Login button. You may even Login with Facebook if you’ve linked your Spotify account to your Facebook account.

Spotify Web Player Home

After logging into the Spotify Web Player, you’ll notice that the layout is quite simple and easy to use. The left pane shows you all of your available options. The first four options are Search, Home, Your Library, and Recently Played.

You’ll find the following main options on the Home page.

  • Links at the top which will help you quickly get to Featured, Podcasts, Charts, Genres, New Releases, and Discover.
  • Based on your listening history, Spotify curates playlists of suggested music.
  • The music you’ve recently played.
  • Sections titled “More Like” with specific artists related to your music tastes.
  • Themed suggestions centered around specific holidays or based on the day of the week.
  • Top music lists.
  • Recommended podcasts.

The Home page is different for each user as it is customized based on each user’s listening behavior. This customization may make it so that you might see fewer or more options than the ones listed above.

Here’s how to take advantage of Spotify Search

If you’re looking for a particular song, artist or album, you can take advantage of this option. After clicking on this option, a text box shows itself on the top of the screen. After you begin typing, search results begin displaying themselves. Click on a result from the list of search results to begin listening.

Spotify has divided the results page into useful sections which make it easier to find what you’re looking for. The results page is divided into Artists, Albums, Playlists, Podcasts, Episodes, and more.
