The trust fund heir had filmed himself raping two women and has supposedly committed over 200 counts of predatory sexual assault, rape, sex abuse and unlawful surveillance against the two victims.
McDermott began to weep in court saying 'I am ashamed to be standing here today. I want to apologize to all of those affected by my crimes. First and foremost, I want to apologize to the victims I am truly and deeply sorry for what I did"
According to police reports, McDermott drugged and raped the two women in question over the course of three years, between 2010 and 2013. The acts were committed at least 13 times in various locations in New York and McDermott filmed and saved tapes of his actions.
McDermott's guilty plea got him a reduced 10-year sentence after which he will be released and be registered as a sex offender.
The information about his crimes will become available to the public that will be able to conduct a sex offender search and discover his public records.
