Man Arrested for Injuring Officer and Killing Another

Isaias De Jesus Valencia, Police Stand Off in Pomona
After a 15-hour stand-off between a SWAT team and an armed man in Pomona, California, the shooter killed one officer and injured another. The man, who has been identified as 39-year-old Isaias De Jesus Valencia, led police on a chase after they received a call about reckless driving.

The pursuit ended with Valencia barricading himself in his Pomona apartment from Friday night until Saturday noon. During the stand-off, Valencia shot police through the door, killing 30-year-old officer Gregory Casillas and injuring another officer.

15 hours after the pursuit, a SWAT team was able to get Valencia out of his apartment and into police custody. Valencia was taken into custody, and is currently held on a $1 million, bail according to court records.
