Tempe fire Capt. Kyle Brayer, 34, was riding on a golf cart with several friends as they were headed to Civic Center Plaza in Scottsdale at 2:30 a.m. when he was gunned down by another man. The suspect, Hezron Parks, 21, was allegedly bumping the golf cart that Brayer and his friends were in.
Brayer approached Parks, who was on the drivers' side, and was shot in the head. The gunned down fire Capt. was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. In the mean while, Parks fled the scene but later turned himself into the police after he saw reports about the incident and descriptions of his car in the media.
Parks is now facing second degree murder charges and will be sentenced for the homicide on a date to be scheduled.
