Indiana Public Records

The state of Indiana has an Open-Door Law, and Indiana Access to Public Records Act that are designed to give people information about the government bodies. Vital records, such as birth records, death records, marriage records, divorce records, etc., are kept by the Indiana State Department of Health Division of Vital Records.

Indiana – Laws and Vital Information

Before Indiana became a US state in 1816, it was governed by territorial law. After Indiana joined the union, a constitution was formed the same year the state became a part of the United State. A second constitution was enacted in 1851, and it is the same constitution that is used in Indiana to this day. The Indiana Constitution is comprised of a preamble, articles and amendments, much like other US constitutions. The Indiana constitution also has several provisions that specify a republican form of government consisting of three branches.

What are Free Background Checks and How Do They Work

Background checks allow you to conduct a public record's check on any person you want in one place. There are several websites that offer a free background check for the people of Indiana, but they have several problems; the sites that are completely free of charge do not have access to all public records, so the information they provide you with is incomplete.

Other free background check websites may portray their services as free of charge, but that is only partially true. Some websites give you a few details about the person you are looking for, but require you to pay additional fees for additional information. That is why you should avoid 'free' background check websites that do not offer the same services as paid public records websites.
