Five Cheap but Good Smartphones

Technology is an integral part of our lives; we are so attached to our smartphones that they are practically a part of us. Smartphones have come a long way from when the first few models graced us with their presence. With tech upgrades happening virtually overnight, it has become imperative that we too upgrade our phones at least every two years just to keep up. Buying a new smartphone can be quite a task with so many choices and such a wide price range, but it doesn’t have to be. We all want the latest features and the best tech, storage, and speed, but at the same time, we don’t want to part with our life’s savings for a phone. Here is a list of five good phones that do not cost an arm and a leg:

Motorola G5s Plus: We kick off our list with the Motorola G5s Plus. At the price of $280-290, this is truly a budget phone. The phone runs on Android 7.0. Some of the pros of the phone include- a 5.2 inch, 1080p display, 3000mAh battery that lasts long and a 12 megapixel camera that works well in daylight. The main drawback is that the camera is not very good in low-light situations.

Huawei Honor 6X: At $250, the Huawei Honor 6X makes the reasonable price cut. The highlights of this phone include a 5.5-inch, 1080p display, good battery life, and dual back camera. The dual camera is good in low-light and allows you to play around with the focusing while taking pictures. The main negative feature of this phone is that is runs on Android 6.0. Huawei has said that there will be an upgrade at some point in the future.

ZTE Blade V8 Pro: The ZTE Blade V8 Pro is available for $230. Like the Honor 6X, the V8 Pro also has a 5.5-inch 1080p display. The battery life of this phone is also good though not as good as that of G5s Plus and Honor 6X. The dual camera too is not as good as the Honor 6X. The phone, however, supports a faster 802.11ac WiFi. The ZTE Blade V8 Pro comes with a rubbery back which has a good grip and the phone runs on Android 6.0.

One Plus 3 and One Plus 3T: Moving on to a slightly higher price range, the One Plus 3 comes in at $400. The smooth metal design gives the phone a good look. Pros include a 5.5-inch 1080p display and a 16 megapixel camera. There is no micro SD slot but the phone itself has 64GB of storage which removes the need for additional storage. At $440, the One Plus 3T has a better battery life and operates on Snapdragon 821 processor. The One Plus 3 and the One Plus 3T are not water resistant.

Apple iPhone SE: No smartphone list is complete without the mention of an iPhone. The Apple iPhone SE might be an older model but it ticks all the boxes when it comes to a good, affordable phone. At a competitive $400, the phone has a good battery life, a reasonably good display and 32GB of storage. The phone also boasts a good camera and a strong sturdy body. While the A9 chip is getting old, it is still fast and the Apple iPhone SE is still a great option to consider.

That is our list of the five cheap but good smartphones. There are cheaper phones but not all of them are good. This list was made after considering the best features and the least flaws and, of course, the prices.
