Apart from treatments such as alcohol or substance abuse, inmates are given the opportunity to pursue basic education and access to the library. They also have options to participate in elective programs such as community programs, like Volunteering at the Animal Shelter, or Chaplaincy Program or the Orchestra. Apart from this, they are required to attend a mental health program that focuses on issues like anger management and criminal thinking errors. The correction center has about five houses that have housed inmates from the "general population." These inmates can be visited per the hours allocated by the respective houses depending on the day of the week or the occasion (holidays like Christmas or Thanksgiving). However, each house is closed to the public, for visiting, once a week, which varies from house to house. Following are the visiting hours for each of the houses:

House 1 -

A visitor must ensure that the inmate has added his/her name on the visitor list and is approved by the facility staff as the inmate's visitor. This approval process could also be initiated by the visitor contacting the Security Sergeant directly, in case the visitor is hesitant to provide the necessary requirements to get the name on the visitor list.

Apart from being an approved visitor, the facility has a long list of rules for visitors coming to the facility. A few such, important rules are:

  • Personal possession must be either put away (that is, not brought to the facility) or stored in the lockers provided at the facility.
  • There will be no exchange of any materialistic possession between visitors and prisoners during the visit.
  • The only physical contact allowed is a "brief embrace" while meeting and bidding bye to the inmate.
  • A visit may be denied if attire worn is inappropriate to that of the facility standards.
  • A photo ID must be provided on arrival. Also, a form must be completed and signed at the time of arrival.

Similarly, the facility has certain regulations with respect to emails received by the inmates, such as -

  • Checks may be certified and the amount may not exceed $500.00
  • Books, magazines, or newspapers could be mailed but from the publisher or vendor, directly.
