Visitation is open for this prison on nearly every day. However, some days the visiting sessions are dependent on the first letter of the last name of an inmate. Two batches are conducted for all types of visits. For those visitors who wish to have an afternoon visit with their loved one, they must arrive and be processed into the facility by 2:45 pm. The deadline for evening visits is 8:00 pm.

  • Saturdays – 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm for A-L inmates, 6:00 pm to 9 pm for M-Z inmates

Northeastern Correctional Center Inmate Programs

Inmates incarcerated within Northeastern Correctional Center have the option of working during their stay at the facility. Also, the facility helps in helping inmates improve themselves through self-help programs. All the programs have the same objective of making sure that inmates can become contributing members of society upon their release, and so that they do not adhere to violence again in the future. Reformation of inmates during their stay within the prison walls is the goal of this institution.

The details of the programs offered within the Northeastern Correctional Center is as follows:

Work Programs – This program is only for level two security inmates who are 18 months away from their release. This program allows inmates to go outside the facility and work at different jobs during the day. The inmates are monitored and they are required to come back to the prison once their shift is over. Through this program, inmates gain knowledge and skill of working and they also earn a wage that can help them to start life again upon release. On the other hand, level three inmates can work in crews in the surrounding areas for maintenance and cleanliness. All inmates are monitored carefully throughout the work program.

Educational Program – this program provides basic adult education and GED to all inmates who do not already have one. It is a compulsion as well for those inmates who are about to enter for a vocation skill or a work program.

Vocational Skills Program – Inmates are taught vocational skills during their stay at the facility. This program can also be known as a recreational program that helps inmates to cope up with their sentences. Besides, through learning a specialized skill, inmates can sustain themselves and get a job that will help them earn upon their release.

Self-help Programs – this program has a wide number of categories and is recommended for inmates who need it. Private one-on-one counseling and group sessions are held for those inmates who struggle with substance abuse, mental health, anger management, etc. The objective of this program to reconstruct the perspective of an inmate so that they can become a part of society upon release.
