Mountain View Correctional Facility Inmate Programs:

Mountain View Correctional Facility has developed programs for inmates with the objective that these programs will build a strong foundation to support their future while ensuring that the training remains useful in their personal lives, both inside the facility and after their release.

To turn the mission to reality, which is, to protect the public and create a safe environment for the staff as well as the prisoners, there is a team that provides a variety of treatment programs for the inmates. These treatment programs mainly rehabilitate the inmates to help them re-build their lost family ties and reintegrate with the community.

Apart from this, there is a chance to release inmates on work offers which would require the inmate to follow certain terms and conditions to be eligible for paid employment in the locality, be it local employers or farms.

The treatment programs designed for the inmates ensure that they learn to accept responsibility for their behaviors, develop social skills and self-awareness, realize the need to make positive decisions in life and adapt efficient problem-solving strategies. These include but not limited to "Thinking for a Change," "Inside Out Dads," and "Family Violence Education and Prevention."

Apart from such life skill treatments, the facility offers an eligible inmate the chance to:

  • obtain a high school equivalent diploma,
  • learn culinary, working/repairing of small engines, and building "trades."
  • Certifications from the National Center for Construction Education and Research (or NCCER) as well as the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (or OSHA).
