Located in LaGrange Kentucky, Roederer Correctional Complex (RCC), a minimum & medium-security facility, serves the department of corrections in more ways than one. The RCC is situated around three miles south of LaGrange in Kentucky & around 20 miles north of Louisville. The primary role of the facility is to receive and assess the intake and classify them appropriately. With the exception of those in death row, the institution processes all the state’s adult male offenders. The facility also houses around 100 inmates on a permanent basis who help with maintenance, laundry, and other services within the facility.
Even though the facility houses around 172 inmates permanently, there is a place for as many as 1,002 inmates, and is used for housing offenders which come for processing and classifying.

It was on 28th August in the year 1976 that the complex opened and was originally a minimum-security, 150-bed "work camp" facility. On 1st December, the year 1987, Roederer Correctional Complex was changed to a minimum/medium security facility with 152 minimum and 100 medium custody inmates.

You can visit RCC on weekends (Saturday and Sunday) from 8:30 am to 3 pm. The last digit of the inmate’s ID number will determine if you visit him on Saturday or Sunday. Those with an even number as the last digit can be visited on Saturday during the month of February, April, June, August, October, & December; during the remaining months, they can be visited on Sunday and vice versa stands true for inmates with the last digit as an odd number.

You must arrive at the facility no later than 2:00 pm or you would not be allowed in. And the institution only allows one visit per week. You must be appropriately dressed, which shouldn’t be revealing or transparent. Roederer Correctional Complex inmate programs
Roederer Correctional Complex provides substance abuse treatment to its inmates. The program is a 200-bed all-out in-patient operation unit for minimum & community custody inmates. It is facilitated through community mentors, inmate mentors, volunteers, treatment staff and security staff.
Also, the inmates can enroll for vocational as well as GED courses. For inmates who are due to be released in the near future can choose to participate in the pre-release programs which prepares them to transit back into society.
