Lubbock Texas is a city that is the county seat of Lubbock County Texas. The city located in the northwestern part of Texas. Historically as well as geographically this region is known as Llano Estacado and it is ecologically a part of the southern edge of High Plains.

According to the 2010 census the population here was calculated to be 229,573 which makes it the 83rd most populous city in America and the 11th most populous city in the state of Texas. There are 88,506 households here with 53,042 families that reside here.

The density of the population here is 1875.6 people per square mile, and there is an average of 783.7 houses per mile. In these households 31.4% of them had children who were living with them under the age of 18, 40.9 were married couples that lived together, 14.0% were female only households without a husband, and around 40.1% were nonfamilies. The population is projected to be 327,424 in the year 2020.

 

The median income of a household in 2011 was $43,364, and that of a family was $59,185. A male that works full time can earn an average of $40,445 while a female here would receive around $30,843. The per capita income here is an average of $23,092, and a total of 11.4% families and 20.8% of households come under the poverty line.
