How to Use Google Blogger

Google is synonymous to the word magic in the 21st century. Google offers many services online which makes using the internet a breeze. One of these services is called Blogger.

What is google blogger?

Blogger is a service which allows you to self-publish multi-user blogs with time-stamped entries. It is fast, free and very easy to use. Blogger was developed by a company which was called Pyra Labs. Pyra Labs, as well as Blogger, was bought by Google all the way back in 2003. All of the blogs are hosted by Google and are generally accessed from a subdomain of blogspot.com.

One of the reasons that Blogger is so popular is that it is completely free and that includes hosting and analytics. If you decide to start displaying ads on your blogs, you’ll receive a share of the profits.

Where do you start?

The possibilities are endless with blogger. The first thing you need to decide is who your blog is aimed at. For example, you can blog to update your friends and family on what is going on in your life, discuss your political or religious views and so much more. You can host a blog with different writers or you can be the solo star of the show. It’s up to you to decide where you’d like to take your blog.

Google has made it really easy to set up a Blogger account. All you need to do is create an account and then name your blog. Finish up by choosing a template you’d like. You only need to do this once because you can host many different blogs under the same account name. This is great because you can host both your personal and professional blogs under the same account name.

Where do you host your blog?

By default, Blogger hosts your blog on blogspot.com. If you’d like you can you can use an existing domain or buy a domain through Google domains. If you choose to use Google’s free hosting services, your blog won’t crash if it becomes popular as the services scale really well.

What about posting?

WTSIWYG or what you see is what you get is a popular acronym on Blogger. You can either post your blog as is or toggle a regular HTML view. Most media types can be embedded, however, JavaScript is restricted. Different formatting options can be accessed by using Google Docs.
You can also post pictures which are on your desktop. It’s incredibly easy to do too. All you have to do is drag a picture from your desktop and drop it to your post while you write it. That’s it. If you’d like to embed a video, YouTube videos are really easy to embed in your blog posts.

Blogger is well optimized to be compatible with almost all of the popular social sharing sites such as Facebook, Pinterest and Google+.
