Virginia Ann Adams, 35, from Dallas Texas is being held on a $75,000 bond after the remains of a child were found in her home garden. Adams has been charged with interfering with the custody of a child after refusing to reveal the whereabouts of her 3-year-old daughter, Rayven Shields.
According to State Child Protective Services, Rayven has been missing since June, and a caseworker assigned to the case tried to locate her. State Child Protective Services served an order to take custody of the child on Wednesday, but Adams refused to disclose her whereabouts. Adams was taken into custody, and several days later, the remains of a child were found in her home garden.
It is unclear at this point if the body is that of Rayven, and it is unknown if Adams has an attorney. Upon her arrest, it was discovered that Adams had a 4-year-old child who died from severe trauma to the body in 2005. Adams' then-husband was arrested for the death of the child, and she was not, despite conflicting stories she gave authorities about how the child suffered the injuries.
