It can get rather tricky for the driver and the assistants as some criminals can have other devious methods to get away while outdoors.

While at the center, inmates are assured of any form of medical and mental health aid to help them deal with any ongoing problems or otherwise. Health professionals are available 24x7 by providing a range of services. A doctor is on call every day. Treatment like dialysis, radiology, dental and psychiatric care is provided. Every inmate on arriving at the facility is made a note of and their medical history is taken into account should the need to administer any medication be required.

At the West Valley Detention Center inmates are encouraged to participate in the culinary instructional program, teaching them about food and its management spectrum. Three nutritious meals per day are served. Religious needs of the inmates are factored into the plan.
