  • Haven Hall: It is the housing unit for minimum security prisoners and includes nine dormitories, chapel, and dayroom.
  • Horizon Hall: It is the housing unit for confining higher custody prisoners and includes four dormitories, gym, and dayroom.
  • Orientation Unit: It is Included within the Horizon Hall and yet is considered a self-contained unit.
  • Administration Building: It constitutes staff offices, classrooms, treatment rooms, kitchen, Prairie Industries, an infirmary, and visitation.
  • SMU: Created in the year 2006, the Special Management Unit comprises five cells, outside recreation yard, and a dayroom.

The prison facility provides mental health treatment, sex offender counseling, anger management, abuse treatment, substance abuse treatment, and more. Prisoners can also avail of medical treatment while they are serving their sentences. The facility also conducts extra education courses such as obtaining a GED, participate in adult education courses, and earn college credits via collaboration with Dickinson State University.

The correction center aims to offer vocational programs, which are consistent with the female inmates’ varied requirements. The idea behind these programs is to make these women prisoners self-sufficient after they are released from this prison. Some of these vocational courses include computers, horticulture, keyboarding, carpentry, career readiness, and welding. Prisoners also get a chance to work for a sewing and textile operation, which is part of the corrections industry. The unit manufactures hospital gowns other clothing items, and scrubs, and prison uniforms.

All approved visitors have to fill up an application form for visiting that has to be approved before their visit. There is a prescribed visitor application form available at this correctional facility. Visitors can visit their loved ones on the following days and at the following time:

While the orientation program is organized, the prisoner can send visiting applications to all those visitors they wish to put on their list. After getting the visiting applications from the prospective visitors at the facility and approval given by the facility’s Visiting Control Officer, the inmate can be visited by any person whose name appears on the visiting list approved. Generally, the approval process takes around two weeks.

All kids should come with their legal guardians or won parents during the visit. The facility needs an official photo ID for all people entering the prison except for persons below 16 years who are coming with adult visitors.
