Death records are stored by the Vital Statistics Services under the Wyoming Department of Health. While death records starting from July of 1909 are available in the State, records that are older than fifty years are stored at the Wyoming State Archives. Death records are not public records in Wyoming. The processing fee for the first death record is $15. Every additional record will cost $10 per copy.
In order to apply for a copy, you will need to sum it certain information about the person whose record you are looking for. This includes their name, as stated in the death record, the date they died, as well as your relationship to the deceased. If you do not know the date of death of the deceased, then you will be charged an additional $25 for every five years of search done. The only people who can apply for death records are either the deceased's immediate family, this includes their parents, partner, and children. Either their legal representative or the legal representative of their immediate family can also file a request to obtain a copy of the death record, however, they will need to prove that they have been granted authorization.
The executor of an estate can also apply for a copy, but they will also have to prove their relationship to the deceased. Unlike with public records, where access is available to everyone, death records in Wyoming have restricted access, unless they are older.

In order to apply for a death record in person in Wyoming, you will have to visit either the State Vital Statistics Services department or the department in the town or city where the deceased whose record you require passed away.
They, you will have to fill out an application called, 'Application for Certified Copy of Death Certificate'. You will also be asked to provide government issued valid photographic identification, alongside the processing fee. You may also be asked to prove your relationship to the deceased. In-person applications are usually delivered the same day.
