 The Year 2011 and 2012 were successful years for DeAndre with the Detroit Lions.

In 2014, he was given the privilege to start all 14 games for the Detroit Lions. Seeing his consistency, the Lions extended their contract with DeAndre for the next four years.

However, he could play only one game as he suffered an injury. He was used as an injury reserve but he could play only for a very short time as he suffered a torn meniscus since 2016.

In 2017 March he was released by the Lions from the contract. This did not go well with DeAndre and he filed an injury grievance against the Lions.

Post-retirement

Levy still plays football for his personal wish. He leads a quiet life with his wife. He acts as an advocate for sexually assaulted victims with his wife’s support.

DeAndre is a fun-loving person in real life. During his college football, he knocked on an 80-year-old coach by mistake and the coach suffered a couple of broken bones.

Though this was not an incident to be proud of, DeAndre still mentions this and considers the incident as a proud moment in his life.

As his wife was a victim of child sexual abuse, he as set up a forum to help people who are victims of sexual abuse. He feels that sports personalities and eminent people should stand up for these victims and get them justice.

He also conducts fundraiser events for these victims. DeAndre has created awareness in social media about the brain injuries that football players suffer from. He pleads the NFL to be transparent and publish the truth behind such injuries.
