Enes Kanter is a professional player of basketball from Switzerland who plays for the team of Boston Celtics of NBA. He was selected as the 3rd overall pick of NBA Draft in the year 2011 by Utah Jazz.

Kanter was born on 20th May 1992 in Zurich. Kanter’s father received his degree of M.D. from Zurich University and his family got shifted to Turkey after that. His father got the job of histology professor at the Trakaya University. Kanter’s mother was a nurse by profession.
Kanter is the eldest of all his siblings: one brother and one sister. His brother, Kerem Kanter is also a basketball player. When he was 17 years of age, he moved to the U.S. for playing basketball.
Kanter attended Findlay Prep in Nevada and then the Mountain State Academy in West Virginia. He was not permitted for playing basketball in high school because he had a contract with Nike shoes while he played pro basketball. He then attended Stoneridge School in California where he was permitted to play basketball for one season. From the year 2010-2011, he attended college for one year at Kentucky University.
Kanter was drafted by Jazz in the NBA draft of 2011. On 9th December 2011, Kanter signed a contract of rookie scale with Jazz followed by the ending of NBA lockout. In 2011-2012 he turned out to be the tenth rookie of Jazz in the history of franchise for appearing in each season game.
He even recorded the maximum number of rebounds for any Jazz rookie on his debut with eleven against the team of LA Lakers on the 27rh of December.
In that very season, he had an average of 4.6 points with rebounds of 4.2 in a total of 66 games. In the season of 2012-2013, he had an average of 7.2 points, 4.3 rebounds in every game of 70 total games. In the season of 2013-2014, he appeared in a total of 80 games with an average of 12.3 points and rebounds of 7.5.
On the 28th of November 2016, he recorded another season-high of 27 points along with 10 rebounds. On 13th February 2019, Enes signed a contract with Trail Blazers and made his debut with Blazers on 21st February. He signed with Boston Celtics on 17th July 2019 a 2-year contract which amounted to $10 million.
National team career
Kanter played his first match for the national basketball team of Turkey at the FIBA Under Sixteen Championship in the year 2008 which was held in Italy. He had an extraordinary record in that tournament with an average of 22.9 points with 16.5 rebounds and total blocks of 1.5 in a game of 34.6 minutes.
He won the honors of MVP at the FIBA Under Eighteen Championship in the year 2009 after having average points of 18.6, 16.4 rebounds. He led the junior team of Turkey for the bronze medal. He played with the senior team at the Eurobasket in the year 2011.
