Born on 20th October 1989, Jamie Collins Senior is a football linebacker of America who currently plays for the National Football League’s Detroit Lions.
The New England Patriots had drafted him in the 2nd round of the NFL Draft of 2013. However, he was traded to the Cleveland Browns by the Patriots in between the season of 2016.
The Patriots though resigned the player before the 2019 season as a free agent. Collins played college-level football while attending the University of Southern Mississippi

He also led his team in the state championship game. Collins was also chosen to play in the All-Star game of Mississippi-Alabama when he made a solo-tackle.
He was also a brilliant track & field athlete and also qualified in a state track. Rivals.com declared him as a 3-star athlete and he had Number 68 rank at that point in the country.
His overall rank was No. 21 in Mississippi. According to Scout.com Jamie Collins was a 3-star prospect and The Clarion-Ledger included his name in the first-team All-State. MaxPreps.com called him the country’s Number 12 combo passer.
Jamie Collins attended the University of Southern Mississippi. He was a part of a football team called Southern Miss Golden Eagles between 2009 and 2012. Collins played as a linebacker, defensive end, and defensive back during this time.
The player recorded 21 quarterback sacks, 3 touchdowns, 3 interceptions, and 314 tackles in his entire college career. He was selected in the 1st-team of All-Conference USA in 2012 after his senior season.

The player was traded to the Cleveland Browns on 31st October 2016 for a conditional 3rd round draft pick in 2017.
Hue Jackson, the head coach named the player a starting outside linebacker versus Cam Johnson He played his debut game on 6th November 2016 with the Browns. Collins recorded 8 combined tackles in that match though the Browns lost the match to the Dallas Cowboys with a score of 35-10 in Week 9.
The Browns released him on 6th March 2019. Collins resigned with his old team the New England Patriots on 15th May 2018 for one year. Jamie Collins signed a 3-year contract worth 30 million USD with the Detroit Lions on 25th March 2020.
