Anthony Jared Dudley, born on 10th July in the year 1985, in San Diego, California, USA is a professional basketball player who plays for Club of the NBA - The Los Angeles Lakers. He plays as an attacking defender and small forward. He was chosen in the 2007 NBA draft in the first round under the overall 22nd number by the Charlotte Bobcats team.
While studying at college, he played for the Eagles Boston College team. along with Sean Marshall who was the captain of the team. In the last season, he was a college leader in the number of points and rebounds. He spent four years in the team, and in the first three seasons, he took part in all matches of the regular season. However, in the year 2--6, December, he injured himself.
On November 29, 2006, in a match against the University of Michigan, he scored as many as 30 points. The match was broadcasted on national television. The greatest achievement of his career at the college level was 36 points scored in a match against Villanova University. The match took place on 19th January int he year 2005, and his team won. In the last season, he scored 19 points & gave 3 assists on average per match.
At the college level, Dudley was recognized as the Player of the Year at the Atlantic Conference of 2007 and ended up in the second All-American team.
On 28th June 2007, he was selected under the general 22nd NBA draft number by the Charlotte Bobcats team. The player almost immediately got to show his talent live and made his debut on 24th November 2007, in the match against Boston, in which he scored 11 points and made 9 rebounds. Later he became one of the key players of Charlotte. In the 2007–08 season, he scored an average of 5.8 points per match.
In the year 2008, on December the 18th, Dudley, along with his teammate Jason Richardson was sold to Suns In exchange, the club received Raju Bell, Boris Diao, and Sean Singletary, Dudley attracted media attention after a video interview with Suns partners that he posted on the Internet and tweets on JMZ and JSPN (a parody of ESPN and TMZ.com). Dudley played in the debut season for the “Suns”. He played 20 matches an on average collected 3 rebounds, gave 0.8 assists and scored 5.5 points.
In the season of 2009-10, Dudley became one of the team’s key players in the playoffs. He went out in all 16 Suns playoff games, attacking with a percentage of 42.4% from the three-point line. However, in the final of the Western Conference, the team lost to the Los Angeles Lakers with a score of 2-4.
Although Suns did not make it to the playoffs of the 2010-2011 season, Dudley averaged 10.6 points/game.
In the shortened 2011-2012 season, Dudley scored 12.7 points per match, made 4.6 rebounds and gave 1.7 assists/game. In the starting lineup, he went out in 60 matches. However, the “Suns” again did not get into the playoffs.
Due to the fact that veterans Grant Hill and Steve Nash left the team in the 2012-2013 season, Dudley and O'Neill received captain's armbands.
On December 26, 2012, in a home match versus the New York Knicks, Dudley set a personal record for performance in the NBA, gaining 36 points in 42 minutes.
Los Angeles Clippers
On 10th July in the year 2013, Jared was traded to the Los Angeles Clippers in the framework of the tripartite deal, which was also attended by Milwaukee Bucks and Phoenix Suns.
Los Angeles Lakers
On July 2, 2019, Dudley entered into a one-year contract with the Los Angeles Lakers. He agreed to a minimum veteran salary of $ 2.5 million. Jared also had offers from Brooklyn Nets and Detroit Pistons but preferred the Lakers.
