In 2018, he signed a two-way contract and towards the end of the 2017 – 2018 NBA season, Timberwolves gave him a standard contract. As a result, the basketball player could appear in the 2018 NBA Playoffs.
Till the 2018 summer league, he continued to play for the Timberwolves. During his time with this team, he averaged 8.6 points and 12.6 rebounds.
He signed a two-way contract with Orlando Magic on July 27, 2018. Amile Jefferson made his debut for the club on December 31, 2018. His first game was against Charlotte Hornets, where he got one rebound and two points.
