To date, Magette’s career highlights and achievements are manifold. He was the GSC East Division Freshman of the Year in 2009. The next year, he was in the Second-team All-GSC East Division. A year later, he was a part of the First-team All-GSC East Division. In the same year, he became the First-team Division II All-American.
In 2012, he was again the First-team Division II All-American and the GSC Co-Player of the Year. He was also a part of the First-team All-GSC and GSC Tournament MVP in 2012.
In 2013, he was the Dutch Basketball League steals leader. A few years later in 2017, he became an NBA D-League All-Star and his team was the All-NBA D-League Second Team. His last achievement was when he became the NBA G League assists leader in 2018.
Magette remained undrafted during the 2012 NBA draft, but he signed up with Memphis Grizzlies for the NBA Summer League. However, it was not until August 2012 that he made his first appearance after signing up with the Netherlands’ Landstede Hammers basketball team. Thereafter, between 2013 and 2014, he played for the Los Angeles D-Fenders.
He then played for the Koroivos Amliadas between 2014 and 2015. He once again played for the Los Angeles D-Fenders between 2015 and 2017. In 2017, he joined the Atlanta Hawks until 2018, and then in 2018, he played for Erie BavHawks, Cedevita Zagreb, and Gran Canaria. After leaving Gran Canaria in 2019, he joined the Orlando Magic and played for them until 2020. Presently, he plays for the Lakeland Magic.
During his regular 2017 and 2018 seasons with the Atlanta Hawks, Josh played a total of 18 games. He scored an average of 2.6 points per game, made 0.4 steals/game, spent 12 minutes per game, and had at least 1.1 rebounds per game.
