Unlike his brother, Travis's college football career was filled with ups and downs. He was redshirted in 2008. The next year, he played eleven games, as a tight end and quarterback.

In 2009 he performed fairly well, collecting eight rushes for forty-seven yards, a couple of touchdowns, and only a single reception for three yards.

He was not able to compete the next season, as he got suspended for indulging in activities that violated the team rules.

In the following season, he made a comeback after serving his time out of the game. He joined the team back to start the season in 2011.

This year he played only as a tight end, bagging thirteen catches covering 150 yards, scoring two touchdowns.
